The Laboratoire de Mecanique et d'Acoustique
The LMA is a Research Unit of CNRS (UPR 7051)
attached to the Institute of Engineering Sciences and Systems (Insis)
and bound by convention, in the 2012-2016 five-year contract in
Aix-Marseille University (AMU) and the Ecole Centrale de Marseille
(ECM). It has about 140 people, including 90 permanent staff (researchers,
lecturers, engineers, assistant engineers and technicians) and forty
doctoral students.
It aims to ensure the continuum Fundamental Research Engineering Technology in its area of expertise: Acoustics and solid Mechanics.
Site Location:
The LMA is currently situated mainly on the campus CNRS Joseph Aiguier and posseses two branch laboratories: in Château-Gombert (Centrale Marseille) and Aix (IUT GMP).
In the future:
On the horizon early-2015, the laboratory will include a new building of high standing on the Technopole de Château-Gombert through the creation of an engineering campus with a real international visibility.
It could therefore strengthen its local presence by approaching Aix-Marseille University and Centrale Marseille and its natural partners of the Federation Research Mechanics and Energetics (IUSTI, IRPHE and M2P2) and the Institut Carnot Star.
